Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in Pasay, Manila

My sister brought us to the DFA to have her children's passports renewed. It's no surprised that the Department of Foreign Affairs located in  2330 Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City, Philippines is much more organized than the one in smaller cities.

Before you can process your passport,  you have to have an appointment- unless you or your spouse is a government employee. Minors or children of government employees who are below the age of 18 are also allowed to apply without an appointment.

The Department of Foreign Affairs Passport Processing Area 2 is located in the 2nd floor.
Before entering the Passport Processing Area, it's always best to drop by the receptionist to receive further instructions.
Fortunately, during the time we went to get their passports processed, there weren't a lot of people which made everything a lot quicker to finish.

The bad news was that my sister was still required to have a photocopy of her passport before we could submit the children's passports for processing. I and the kids waited for an hour before she came back with a printed copy of her passport. Good thing the printer at home also had a scanner.

  1. Thanks for the info. I will have my first ever passport application on October 13 and I am excited! My documents are ready, however, my NBI clearance says, “NOT FOR TRAVEL ABROAD”, something like that. I re-used my old NBI clearance which I used for employment, November of last year (It expires November this year and I want to utilize it as much as I can). Do you think the stamped sign, “”NOT FOR TRAVEL ABROAD”" will have an effect on my application? Here are the documents I have at hand:

    NSO Birth Certificate
    Old College ID
    Current Employee ID
    Transcript of Records
    TIN Card
    Postal ID
    NBI Clearance

  2. I recall when I got my license as a minor, the requirements weren't as difficult to accomplish. The last time I went to the DFA was when I had my passort renewed -and all that was needed from me was my old passport.

If my memory serves me right, all your requirements should be at the back of your application form. Do you have one of those?

Anyway, don't forget that if you aren't a government employee, you'll still be required to get at a appointment just within the gate premises. So try to go there early.

As for your question regarding the NBI clearance, I apologize for not being able to answer this.
